Todd Baldino Memorial Scholarship

In 2008, the Timberbirch Broadmoor Athletic Association (T.B.A.A.) lost one of our own with the sudden passing of Todd Baldino.  Todd came through our organization as a player and then returned as a young man to contribute to our club.  In his memory a scholarship program was established in order for our club to assist some deserving T.B.A.A. players with their college education.

 

Beginning in 2009 and each succeeding year, TBAA has awarded two scholarships - one each to a boy’s travel soccer player and a girls travel soccer player. Starting in 2012, we have held an annual Golf Outing to help increase the number and amount of scholarships awarded.

 

On Friday, June 7th, 2024, we will be hosting the 12th Annual Todd Baldino Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament. Over the last ten years we have been able to provide over $140,000 in scholarships to 106 local young adults to help with their post high school education. Our goal is to raise funds to support and expand this important program. We are asking for your help with donations for our basket auction and prizes. Anything your business/organization can provide is greatly appreciated and will go toward supporting our goals of providing our players with support as they further their education.

Scholarship Information

TODD BALDINO MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION AND APPLICATION FORM Select the button below to print out the application Eligibility: TBAA will award at lease two scholarships each year, to a girls travel soccer player and to a boys travel soccer player. The program is open to current or former players: (a) who have played travel soccer for a TBAA team for at least three (3) years; (b) who will graduate high school in 2024; and (c) who will be attending college or otherwise continuing their adult education. Selection Criteria: Candidates must submit the application form which may be obtained from the TBAA website (www.tbaa.net) no later than July 15th, 2024. The recipients will be chosen by TBAA’s Trustees. The scholarships will be awarded based upon academic achievement, participation in school and other activities, community service and demonstrated leadership. Applicants will not be selected because of soccer ability. Scholarships: The scholarships will be not less than $500.00. The recipients must provide the TBAA Executive Board with proof of registration. The recipients will be honored at TBAA’s annual coaches' meeting. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: (1) Please prepare and attach to this application a short essay (no more than four double spaced pages) describing the impact that your participation in soccer has had on your life. (2) Please attach to this application two letters of recommendation from a teacher, coach or other member of your community. Todd Baldino Memorial Scholarship T.B.A.A. IS PROUD TO SPONSOR THE: Todd Baldino Memorial Scholarship In 2008, T.B.A.A. lost one of our own with the sudden passing of Todd Baldino. Todd came through our organization as a player and then returned as a young man to contribute to our club. Many of us remember Todd in his cook’s gear as he worked over the grill at our Pre-season Tournaments. Todd’s father, Joe, is a long-time T.B.A.A. coach and Executive Board member and has served for over 15 years on the Black Horse Pike Regional School Board. Considering Joe’s involvement in education, we felt that it would be a great idea for our club to assist some deserving T.B.A.A. players with their college education. Beginning in 2009 and through 2024, TBAA awarded two scholarships in the amount of $500.00. The scholarships are open to all current or former players: (a) who have played travel soccer for a TBAA team for at least three years; (b) who will graduate high school in the award year; and (c) who will be attending college or otherwise continuing their adult education. Beginning in 2024, with the funds secured through our Todd Baldino Memorial Scholarship Golf Outing, T.B.A.A. has been able to increase the number of awards presented as well as the size of each award. In 2023, we were able to award 9 scholarships of $1000.00 each. To date the Scholarship committee has awarded over $120,000.00.
